House Rules

Please consider other guests (if there) and neighbours:

  • I live onsite (accept when "Vacation Home" booking is active) and I love hosting great people who are courteous.
  • I am friends with my neighbours and value my relationship with them; please respect the neighborhood and my neighbours by not being loud or littering outside the home.
  • No dirty shoes on inside (...perhaps carry a pair up for using out back)

Other Guests:

  • No unregistered guests allowed... "Double Rate Penalty" applies if undeclared guests are caught staying over!
  • Visitors welcome by prior arrangement

Pet policies:

Stay66.nz does not accept pets.

Smoking / Vaping:

  • Outside only; Stay66.nz is a smoke-free and vape-free home... If you do smoke inside there will be a charge of $150.00 to remove the odour and clean.
  • Please use the ash trays provided outside; Please DO NOT throw cigarette butts (or anything else) onto my or my NEIGHBOURS gardens or on driveways!

In Winter: (or on cold nights) 66 on Ngauruhoe / Stay66.nz is heated by radiators using the earth's geothermal energy... please note that ambient heat takes longer to heat up and we don't want you (or anyone else) being cold, therefore it is helpful if you:

  • Please keep doors leading outside closed to keep the heat in
  • At main entrance; please use the front 2 doors like an airlock – close one before opening the other

Front deck:

Please ensure that the doors leading onto the front deck are either closed and latched at the top; or secured by the wall hooks when open – as wind gusts off the lake can get quite strong.

  • Please don't forget to unlatch the hooks before closing the doors :-)
  • Please ALWAYS monitor all children on front deck as there is a thermal bath located here

*** LOCK THESE DOORS WITH UPPER LATCH AT ALL TIMES WHEN NOT IN USE ***

Geothermal bath:

Please ensure to read signs and operate taps as per instructions – WARNING: HOT WATER IS A SCOLDING 65°C

  • Bath fills in approximately 3-4 minutes from empty – DO NOT LEAVE BATH UNATTENDED WHEN FILLING
  • If full of cold water; bath becomes hot in approximately 3-4 minutes
  • Vertical pipe/plug in corner lays down to empty; stand the pipe vertical to fill

Conservation and consideration are key:

A friendly reminder; please abide with my conservation and recycling efforts – this would be very helpful and appreciated.

  • Place separate rubbish into the various recycling containers and bags; located in and outside the kitchen's back door. It's important to rinse clean recyclables first to avoid attracting vermin.
  • Please try to conserve water and power
Power is expensive; please turn lights off when you are not in rooms or while out for the day
  • Only fill the hot water kettle with what you need; please do not fill to the top to boil one cup!
    - A filtered water tap is located on left of sink in kitchen to fill kettle or drink – also good to top-up car batteries
    - And for everyone's safety never leave a kettle empty of water and plugged in

Kitchen:

  • Please ensure the kitchen is left as it was found – clean!
  • Complimentary tea / coffee / sugars / salt and pepper / condiments / spices / cooking oils etc are freely available for both B&B and Vacation Home guests to use – They are not for take away
  • Cooking facilities in the kitchen are only available to "Vacation Home" guests only.
  • For Stay 66 B&B guests only - a really yummy continental breakfast is included.
    - Please do not help yourself to these ingredients otherwise you will be charged.
    - Currently we encourage our B&B guests to explore the many nearby cafés & restaurants for lunch or dinner;
    - An onsite House Bar / Pool Room will soon be opening; and a Food Menu will be available by prior arrangement.

Cleaning:

The property must be left reasonably clean and tidy, ensuring all furniture and appliances are returned to where they were on arrival.

  • Your booking includes a compulsory cleaning fee which covers a general service clean; if the property requires extra cleaning, you could be charged $30.00 per hour.
  • BBQ must be left clean (cleaning products located in BBQ cupboard underneath), if not a $30.00 fee will be charged for cleaning this
  • With the Stay66 on Ngauruhoe vacation home bookings:
ALL rubbish must be removed from the property on departure; and at Stay66.NZ's discretion, failure to do this will result in a minimum charge of $30.00 for the disposal of this; unless otherwise arranged.
    - Wednesday is rubbish day; hence the required removal, in consideration of following guest prior to rubbish day.
    - This rule is so we are not to be left with piles of smelly rubbish for several days. Any questions please just ask.

Tents, caravans and campers:

Tents, caravans and campers are expressly prohibited unless prior consent is given in writing.

Car Charger and Power Hook Up:

A Tesla, Caravan, and a 3 pin outlets are located at top left of driveway; and are available by prior arrangement.

Disclaimer:

  • All items provided: kayaks, bicycles, thermal bath, swimming pool; are to be used at your own risk
  • Stay66.nz accepts no responsibility for any injury or loss to any guest or their belongings

Stay66.nz is equipped with smoke detectors.

  • In the unlikely event of fire; please assemble on the rear lawn or front roadside and call 111 for fire brigade
  • In the event of earthquake; stay clear of glass windows and avoid the hanging speakers in the main lounge; either ride it out, or evacuate to roadside
  • In the event of volcanic eruption of mountains, enjoy the view: however, if ash cloud approaches, then close all windows and doors, and stay inside.
  • A first aid medical bag and water bottles are in the laundry; fire extinguishers are in kitchen upstairs and bar.
  • In the event of a lake eruption; don't worry, your ass will be in Argentina before your mind knows anything about it ...Kudos to you if you read this far :-)
